The following are the technical specifications of the Trilent FTP Proxy.

Note: The FTP proxy is implemented as a service. The Windows 95/98/Me family of non-preemptive Microsoft operating systems that are based on DOS do not support services.

Clients

  • FTP Proxy supports up to 60 concurrent FTP connections without blocking.
  • All files are transferred "on-the-fly", there is no store-and-forward.
  • All command-oriented FTP clients are supported.
  • The following Web browsers are supported (successfully tested with the proxy): Internet Explorer, Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox.

Timeouts

  • When attempting a connection to a non-existing server (or server that is down): approx. 20 sec
  • When connection is rejected by server (no FTP service): approx. 10 sec
